Where is Representative Pitts' district located?

Representative Pitts represents District 10, which encompasses the entirety of Ellis County and Hill County, Texas. This area lies just south of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and just north of Waco.

Is Jim a United States Congressman, or a Texas State Representative? What's the difference?

Representative Pitts is a member of the Texas House of Representatives, which, along with the Texas State Senate, is one of two legislative bodies that has jurisdiction over state laws. The United States Congress, of which Representative Pitts is not a member, has jurisdiction over federal laws. When does the Texas House of Representatives meet?

The Texas Legislature, which is composed of the Texas House of Representatives and the Texas Senate, meets for 140 days during odd-numbered years. The Legislature can meet at other times, but if called to meet by the Governor for a 'special session.'
