Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas Endorses Jim Pitts

May 17th, 2012

The Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT), which represents 18,500 members across Texas, has endorsed Rep. Jim Pitts in his House District 10 re-election campaign. CLEAT is the largest law enforcement organization in Texas.

“Police officers in House District 10 and throughout the state know that Rep. Jim Pitts will look out for their best interest, as he has done for years in the Texas Legislature.  CLEAT is supporting Jim because of his consistent record of supporting law enforcement and our families,” Charley Wilkison, CLEAT Director of Public Affairs, said.

“Our police officers and their families make a great – and sadly, sometimes the ultimate – sacrifice in service to our state.  I am honored to have the endorsement of CLEAT and the thousands of law enforcement officers it represents.  I have supported law enforcement in the past and will proudly continue to do so in the future,” Rep. Pitts said.

Pitts is receiving broad local and statewide support in his re-election campaign, including endorsements from the Waxahachie Firefighters’ Association, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, Texas Comptroller Susan Combs, Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association, Texas Alliance for Life PAC, Texas Right to Life, National Rifle Association, and Texas State Rifle Association.

Pitts is a Waxahachie attorney.  He also owns the Ellis County Abstract and Title Company, is a director of Citizens National Bank in Waxahachie, and is a Director of Sims Library.  Pitts previously served as President of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, President of the board of trustees of Presbyterian Children’s Services, and President of the Waxahachie Independent School District. He and his late wife Evelyn, have three children.
